TAG Face Paint and Awen SFX products go to competition!

We are jazzed! We took the best and brightest of our TAG face paint..including royal blue and purple...red, yellow, copper, light blue, pearl black -- heck we took all of them -- to the United States biggest body painting competition ever! and they preformed with flying colors !! Not only that but *lots* of artists arranged for their models to be wearing our competition grade nipple covers and thong sets. These gems are *the* thing to have for that flawless look to your competition piece -- long gone are the days where you had to paint over underclothes or blend in panty lines. With the stick-on thongs your art work is *seamless* and ready for professional close ups!

Meet TAG; the New Kid on the Block

CONTACT: Karen Mercer                                                                                                                                                                                                                                 850-366-3223                                                                                                                          info@FacePaintShop.com
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
MEET TAG; THE NEW KID ON THE BLOCK
Tallahassee, FL. March 2011— Karen Mercer of www.FacePaintShop.com knew that she wanted to bring in a line of professional face painting supplies that could stand up to the challenges of Tallahassee’s  weather when she moved to Florida several months ago. “But even after two years so many painters aren’t aware of TAG or what it can do for them.” To help put a ‘name to the face’  Mercer has asked the TAG crew to sketch up a little biography of the company.

WHEN did you start, WHY did you open?
We started TAG approx 2 years ago.  The only paints available to us as face painters in Australia at the time were DFX and Wolfe.  These paints were shipped from China to either the US or the Netherlands then back to Australia, which made the paints very expensive to purchase. We needed to find a way to source paints at reasonable prices.
TAG was born!

Are you working party entertainers or is someone in the company?
Gaenor White one of our directors is a full time face painter and face painting teacher.
I paint on occasion when a male presence is needed, my wife, Katherine does glitter tattoos at festivals.
Linda and Charlie White are working face and body painters. They both enter most body painting competitions around Australia.  We are all working artists and the entire company is a ‘family affair’
Everybody involved with TAG has been and still is part of the facepainting community here in Australia.

Is it true the paint is made in the same factory alongside wolfe and diamond?
Yes. TAG uses FDA approved pigments in all its regular and pearl colors.

TAG stands for children’s initials, right?
Right, my children  (Joe and Katherine) Tulani and the twins, Amelia and Grant.

Do you have a mission statement?
I would say that our aim is to try and provide reasonably priced, quality products and to continue to evolve alongside the professional face painting community.
We love face and body painting!!

Karen Mercer, founding artist of ww.FacePaintShop.com, is committed to bringing you the finest face and body painting products. Being a penny-pinching, coupon user herself you’ll never find inflated prices at the FacePaintShop.com, we never try and trick you by screaming ‘free shipping’ on overpriced product. We take your business very seriously and do everything we can to meet and exceed your expectations.

TAG Pearls VS Interfrenze

so we were just asked today by our good friend Alana in California (www.YoubecomeArt.com) what the difference between the new TAG pearls and Krolans Interfrenze was...aside from the price!

So have two to show you with the closet Interfrenze we could get. The first one is the TAG lilac next to the Mozart Pink. The TAG paint is a solid coverage light pinky/purple with slight silver undertones. The Mozart pink really is a rockin' color with iridescent purple tones-- but it went on a little sheer for our taste. The TAG lime is a opaque light green which is more pastel than electric with gold undertones. The Interfreneze product is called silver green and does have a silver cast -- so while these colors werent directly comprable we wanted to give you a side by side look...what do YOU think?

gold, bronze, copper? whats the difference!

This is usually a confusing question for any face painter. "Should i buy gold, or will yellow face paint be good enough? Is metalic really worth the extra cost? what *are* the differences in all those goldy-orange colors anyway?

The very best way for a face or body painter to make those decisions is to go to a convention or a local jam where a vendor has the range of colors and try them. For instance I *adored* a certain bronze color made by Kryolan so much I bought the biggest cake I could but when I actually got to use it I was disappointed when I put it on it completely disappeared on my average Caucasian skin tone! In fact this color only looks good on a very specific skin color and very specific designs (usually more sophisticated designs). so I was back on the hunt for the most perfect metalic color.

Fast forward to the Face Paint Store and our multitude of choices in copper, old gold, gold and yellow face paints! If you like your metallic accent on the lighter side yellow or gold is for you. Old gold is a beautiful, full color and copper is that deep luxurious tone I love. All have a place in your face painting kit to be used for  different designs. and for ease of comparison Ive lined them all up here.

Next week I'll be adding a video so you can see what they look like on skin --- until then go paint your corner of the world!
